Why Can I Not Update the CFW500 Firmware?

A CFW500 firmware update depends on the communication settings used by WPS and by the device. If these settings are not compatible with the firmware download procedure, WPS may fail to start the update or may not detect the device correctly.

What to Check First​

Before starting the firmware update, verify the following items:

  1. WPS is updated and the CFW500 device module is installed.
  2. The communication cable and interface are connected correctly.
  3. The serial port selected in WPS is the port used by the device.
  4. The baud rate and other communication settings match the firmware download procedure described in the CFW500 manual.
  5. The device remains powered during the entire update.
  6. No other software is using the same communication port.

Do not interrupt power or disconnect the communication cable during a firmware update. An interrupted update may require a recovery procedure.
